It's been more than just clothing, It’s been a key to community.

It's been more than just clothing, It’s been a key to community.

I moved down south to Nashville, TN without knowing a single soul. The first person I connected with was a stranger named Rabee, a frat brother of a friend from back home. We instantly clicked, exploring the city, meeting new people, and slowly forming a group of friends that made this unfamiliar place feel like home.
One day, we were chatting and flipping through old photos on our phones, reminiscing about college. As I scrolled through my camera roll, a picture of me in my “Hug Your Homies” hoodie popped up.
“Wait—how do you have that hoodie!?” he asked, eyes wide and lit up with surprise.
I told him the story of how I got it from Levi, Talia’s brother. He smiled and said he got his from a friend back in college too.
There was something about that moment. Something grounding. In that car ride, I felt a deep sense of comfort, safety, trust, and familiarity. A kind of belonging I hadn’t felt in a long time since moving to a brand new city.
That’s when I realized: since the day I received that hoodie, it’s been more than just clothing. It’s been a key to community, friendship, and a quiet but powerful support system.
